Our latest researchs to the Soccercup are the following:
Members of Germanys leading Metal magazine �Rock Hard� started in 1999 or 2000 a match between musicians and journalists. After a couple of games Thordis took the idea and established the W:O:A Soccercup in 2002 from metalheads to metalheads The first tournament took place with 9 teams.

Beginning of Chaos
"Don�t laugh, that's not really a stupid question. Those who were in 2002 at the tournament know, that last year the Soccer Cup was created by metalheads for metalheads. Initially it was a joke in a thread of the WOA forum, but then it has been realized. Before there was a tournament organizers vs. musicians. In principle, it is just soccer, what means primarily having fun and more. The teams played against each other, first in groups and then in the knock-out system for the victory. Last year a Lithuanian team won and was covered with champagne and photos The Cup will also start in 2003 - with small changes. "".... And we're pleased � we have lots of registrations! Unfortunately, this is a bit difficult, as this year 20 teams will participate - nearly twice as much as last year (2002: 9 Teams, 2003: 11).�

The Cup took place on a single day. The ceremony was in the break of the game Wacken - FC St. Pauli (German cult club) Pauli

The first time with 8 groups / 32 teams, as there were more than 50 registrations. We had a big delay due to masses of mud.
For the first time two fields. Metal Train started to be sponsor. For the first time ceremony on W:E:T � Stage. Registration list was full after 4 days. Waiting list with 20 teams was full after 6 days -> registration was stopped. Again a big delay because of mud. .
Autumn 2008: RIP Thordis ( "inventor" of the Soccercup)
For the first time two soccerfields on the event area close to the mid age area. Registration closed after 3 days, as 32 teams registrated and 23 teams were on the waiting list.
After a few hours had the application is already stopped. 32 teams were registered and 28 teams on the waiting list! Despite rain showers in the event area was again fought to the bitter end.
Anniversary! 10th W:O:A Soccercup. Exceptionally, 36 teams were registered, which fought for the title. Back to the old place in Wacken Center. The award ceremony took place in the Bullhead city tent..
